Youth Programs

NEDSRA offers a wide range of programs and services for youth of all ages and abilities. Most programs are geared towards specific age and ability groups so we can best meet the needs of the individuals we serve. Annually we implement more than 600 programs and special events, assuring and promoting CHOICE for all individuals.

Camp & School Days Out

When school is out, come to NEDSA for a day full of FUN! NEDSRA provides weekday full-day programing during school off days. This includes some holiday’s, some in-school training days, winter break and summer break. From field trips, to cooking, games, swimming and social recreation, each day is full of excitement. Your child will be looking forward to their next day at NEDSRA!

Sensory

NEDSRA’s Sensory Station provides a safe, nurturing, person-centered, supportive environment for participants. It is used to facilitate empowerment, self-organization, relaxation, sensory awareness, communication, reality orientation, activity tolerance, and awareness of self, peers, and surroundings.

Special Olympics

Special Olympic sports are dedicated to empowering individuals with cognitive disabilities through competition. NEDSRA offers individual and team sports (basketball, bocce, bowling, ice skating, floor hockey, golf, gymnastics, powerlifting, soccer, snow shoeing, softball) to ensure year-round opportunities for everyone.

Cultural Arts

NEDSRA offers a wide range of cultural arts programs. Program options vary season to season, but you can almost guarantee there will be some karaoke! Whether you like to sing, dance, act or craft… there is a program available for you!

Adaptive Athletics

Adaptive Sports programs are designed for individuals with a physical or visual impairment. All of our seven sports (basketball, golf, soccer, swimming, tennis, track & field, boccia) are designed for both recreational and competitive athletes. NEDSRA has been a pioneer in the development of adaptive sports and are honored to be designated as an official U.S. Paralympic Sport Club.
