Reach for the Stars Night

Each year, NEDSRA hosts a very special evening to honor the part-time support staff, volunteers and most importantly, the participants who make NEDSRA such a wonderful place. The award-winning evening includes a dinner banquet, awards presentation and slide show of our honorees’ accomplishments from the past year. There is always much laughter and celebration, as well as some very touching moments, as our participants receive honors for the progress they have made in a year’s time. This event was the recipient of the 2006 Illinois Parks and Recreation Association Outstanding Special Event award.

While some revenue is generated by charging dinner fees for full-time staff, board members and other guests, the cost to put on the event significantly exceeds this revenue, requiring support from corporate sponsors.

A special thanks to our 2008 Reach for the Stars event sponsors…the Village of Glendale Heights, Oakbrook Terrace Park District and the Village of Schiller Park. Mark your calendar for the 2008 event on Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at the Medinah Shriner Center in Addison.
