Paralympic and Adaptive Sports
NEDSRA pioneered wheelchair and adaptive sports for the DuPage County area. Our paralympic and adaptive sports program provides individuals with physical disabilities with the opportunity to play and compete
in many popular sports. NEDSRA currently collaborates with U.S. Paralympics and is honored to have been designated an official U.S. Paralympic Sport Club. In 2002, NEDSRA was also selected as one of nine inaugural charter members for BlazeSports Club of America.
The benefits of paralympic sports are endless. Every man, woman and child should have the opportunity to experience sports as an outlet, along with all the physical and psychological benefits that go with it. Through sports, one can learn new skills, gain independence, and build healthy lifestyles and behaviors. Sports also provides the opportunity to develop a social network of peers, friends and mentors, all with similar interests.
Organized sports programs offer athletes the ability to take calculated risks in a safe environment. In a controlled and supervised program, all athletes can experience the full benefits that sports provide.
NEDSRA's Paralympic and adaptive sports include:
| Jr. Wheelchair Bulls Youth Basketball Team | Chicagoland Cruisers Adult Wheelchair Basketball Team |
| Adaptive Golf | Beep Baseball |
| Blaze Tennis | Blaze Track & Field |
