If you have an interest in helping and assisting both children and adults with disabilities and want to Put People First, NEDSRA is looking for you! Opportunities for involvement include meaningful and challenging part-time positions, volunteering and student internships.
At this time we are not accepting any applications for employment.
At times, NEDSRA may hire qualified part-time staff and volunteers to assist with its many programs. If you are 16 years of age or older, and are interested in being a member or our support staff please check this page periodically to see if we are hiring. As a part-time staff member, you will need to complete an application and a meeting may be scheduled with you to determine the programs that match with your interest, experience and availability.
Whether it is assisting with our weekly programs, going on an overnight camping trip, coaching Special Olympics Sports or assisting with an inclusion in one of our member park districts, your time, experience and commitment are valuable to NEDSRA.

Student Internship Opportunities
Sixteen-week internships are available to students majoring in Therapeutic Recreation or a closely related field. General areas covered during the placement include:
- Administration
- Supervision
- Fiscal Management
- Public Relations
- Outdoor Recreation
- Program Leadership
All interns will be directly supervised by a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) and may be eligible to receive a weekly stipend.
